Two talks were delivered and the event was chaired by Abu Yusuf al-Hanbali: The first talk was given by brother Samir al-Misri and the second by Saffaruk al-Hanafi.
Samir discussed that as Muslims there is not much to celebrate as the New Year will bring more challenges and attacks on Islam as this has become the norm year in year out. He discussed that as Muslims there is great reward for the one who stands up to these challenges and defends the deen of Islam.
Saffaruk went further by discussing the sacrifices that are needed by us to meet these challenges and that these challenges can only be overcome if we as Muslim youth, who have energy and enthusiasm commit seriously to learning out deen and conveying it to the wider community. Saffaruk elaborated on the fact that we all have different realities and we should all see what change is needed in ourselves to make us contribute towards meeting these challenges.
