Alhamdulillah, in keeping with the successes of the previous Ramadhan nights this year Ramadhan nights attracted 130 youth from across Camden & Islington.
The theme was Ramadhan: The month of Quran and the event was held in a Masjid Ar-Rahman.
The event was chaired by brother Fahad Abu Talha who is local dawah carrier in the Islington/Camden area. There was recitation of the Quran by brother Qari Saeed who also is a well known dawah carrier in the Kentish town area and is also a local Business owner.
The first talk was by Jamaludeen who is a convert to Islam and a database systems Officer by profession. He discussed about Lailatul Qadr and the benefits that one can seek. He also enlightened the audience about the importance of our duty towards the Quran and that our responsibility is not just restricted to reciting the Quran in Ramadhan but is also about fulfilling the rules and regulations that are contained in the Quran.
The second talk was by Ustadh Abu Tahir who studied in Egypt. Abu Tahir is an Arabic Linguists who holds a BA in Arabic, an MSc in Hadith & Isnad and is currently doing a PhD in Fiqh. Abu Tahir discussed the life of the great Sahabah Ibn Masood. He explained how this Sahabah was one of the leading Sahabah who fulfilled his duty towards the Quran. Abu Tahir captivated the audience by linking the life of Ibn Masood & other Sahabah to our lives here in the 21st Century where he drew parallels in term of issues faced by us and those 1400 years ago. The key message was that we as the youth of Islam need to emulate the great personalities like the Sahabah in fulfilling our duty towards the Quran.
There was then the Question & Answer session which was followed by food.
